Supporters of the Islamic regime and anti-regime demonstrators clashed in several cities on Sunday during global protests against Tehran’s escalating crackdown of mass arrests, executions, and internet blackouts, according to activists and international media reports.
In Berlin, Kosar Eftekhari, an Iranian woman who lost an eye after being shot by regime security forces during the 2022 Women, Life, Freedom protests in Tehran, was confronted while waving the Lion and Sun flag and chanting, “IRGC are terrorists.”
Video footage showed a man approaching her and shouting, “Allahu Akhbar” (“God is greatest”) and “Khamenei Akhbar” (“[Mojtaba] Khamenei is the greatest”). Shortly after, Eftekhari was seen being followed by a group of keffiyeh-clad demonstrators.
In another video, a woman wearing a Palestinian flag sticker on her face appeared to pursue Eftekhari before attempting to grab both her and her flag, prompting local police officers to intervene.
The woman with the sticker was later recorded confirming that charges had been filed against her after admitting, “I pushed away the Iranian flag from a woman.”
The incident comes as Berlin faces internal divides on whether to make the public aware of national security threats tied to Iran, The New York Times reported last week, citing seven senior German officials familiar with the discussions.
Even before the war started between Israel and Iran, three senior officials said that European intelligence had identified about 50 suspected plots by Iran-linked underground groups in Germany.
In Bologna, Italy, 2,000 protesters marched with American and Israeli banners in addition to the Iranian flag in protest over an incident on April 26, in which a female protester was reportedly threatened with rape in front of police, according to the media site BolognaToday. There are unconfirmed reports that pro-Palestinian demonstrators launched trash at the protesters.
'Free Palestine! F*** Israel! F*** the US! F*** Pahlavi'
Demonstrations were also disrupted in Brussels by a woman screaming “Free Palestine! F*** Israel! F*** the US! F*** Pahlavi,” according to Belgian politician Sam van Rooy, who shared footage of the incident. The woman was quickly escorted away, and the demonstration continued.
In Toronto, a man was reportedly detained after he rammed several cars with his vehicle while displaying a flag in support of the Islamist regime, York Regional Police confirmed to The Jerusalem Post.
“On Sunday, May 10, 2026, at approximately 3:15 p.m., police responded to reports of a dangerous driver in the area of Major Mackenzie Drive West and Yonge Street. The suspect was operating a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner near an ongoing demonstration.
"The suspect struck a food delivery driver who was not involved in the demonstration and, while fleeing the scene, struck another vehicle. The suspect then stopped his vehicle to yell threats at the demonstrators before being taken into custody,” York Regional Police confirmed to the Post, adding that the driver was taken to the hospital for minor injuries sustained during the collisions.
YRP identified the driver as 39-year-old Mehran Mohagheghi, a resident of Richmond Hill, and charged him with assault with a weapon, dangerous operation, uttering threats, and failure to stop after an accident.
