The Kremlin said on Monday that Russian President Vladimir Putin has been invited to join US President Donald Trump's "Board of Peace," and that Moscow is studying the proposal and hopes for contacts with Washington concerning it.

The Kremlin's statement came shortly after reports from Kazakh media outlet Tengri that Trump also invited Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to join the board.

The White House did not name Tokayev or Putin as confimed members of the board.

According to Kazakh Presidential Press Secretary Ruslan Zheldibay, "Tokayev was one of the first world leaders to receive an official invitation to join the Peace Council, and for Kazakhstan to become one of its founding states."

"In response, the Head of State sent a letter to the president of the United States expressing sincere gratitude and confirming his agreement to join this new body. The president reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s aspiration to make its own contribution to achieving lasting peace in the Middle East, strengthening interstate trust and global stability,” Zheldibay said.

When asked why the president hadn't addressed the invitation earlier, the secretary said they had found it "unethical" to announce the invitation before Trump did, “But the process took on a life of its own.”

Trump's Gaza Board of Peace

In addition to Trump's Board of Peace, other entities and advisers will be involved in executing US President Donald Trump’s vision for Gaza, such as the Office of the High Representative for Gaza and a Gaza executive board, as well as senior advisors joining the BoP.

Trump also recently invited Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to join the BoP, a move that Lukashenko welcomed, as reported by the Belarusian Foreign Ministry and confirmed by their spokesperson on Monday.

Additionally, Polish President Karol Nawrocki was also reported on Monday to have received an invitation to join the Bop.

Trump mentioned this board as far back as September 2025, when the peace deal was coming into view. Following the deal’s commencement on October 13, the UN also adopted a resolution endorsing the US-backed Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict.

This is Trump’s 20-point road map for lasting peace, stability, reconstruction, and prosperity in the region.
