A doctor working at Sourasky Medical Center's Ichilov Hospital was infected with measles after he tried to treat an unvaccinated child, the Health Ministry announced on Friday.
The doctor, who was vaccinated, was treating an unvaccinated child.
Two other employees of the hospital could also be infected.
“The Health Ministry and Ichilov Hospital are conducting a comprehensive epidemiological investigation, and the incident is under monitoring and review,” the ministry stated in a statement.
The ministry urges citizens to get vaccinated, and emphasized that the disease is treatable with the measles vaccine.

In the latest instance, a two-year-old child died of measles at Hadassah-University Medical Center in Jerusalem on Saturday.
