The giant screen market has experienced an unprecedented boom in recent years, with Mini LED technology becoming the main alternative for anyone looking for a high–quality, bright picture for the living room. Indeed, purchasing a TV screen for the living room is usually accompanied by a search for the right balance between high picture quality, simple operation, and a reasonable price tag. The M92 model from Haier TV (officially imported by Miniline) attempts to meet exactly this need through a combination of advanced lighting technology and a familiar operating system.

Elegant design

Let us start with the design of the screen: The M92 features an elegant design, including an especially thin bezel and an impressive look from any angle, similar to more expensive screens. Despite a thickness of 6.3 cm, its structure is designed so that it is barely noticeable when hung on the wall. In addition, the structure of the television allows for a balanced sound distribution thanks to the strategic placement of the speakers, where the thickness of the device plays a significant role in the quality and depth of the audio.

Now we move on to the backlight, which is, as mentioned, of the QD–Mini LED type. To simplify it: Instead of large LED bulbs, there are thousands of tiny LED bulbs here divided into 576 local dimming zones – meaning, the screen knows how to turn specific areas in the picture on and off independently to achieve a deep black color and not just a dark gray.

The advantage of this technology is felt immediately. The brightness intensity here is very strong and reaches a peak of about 1,300 Nits – the unit of measurement for light intensity. I watched the screen at noon when the Israeli sun penetrated inside and the picture remained clear and sharp and with very few reflections that usually force one to close the blinds. When watching HDR content (a technology that expands the color range and contrast between light and darkness), things on the screen look much more lifelike. On Saturday evening, for example, I sat down to watch the Champions League football final and thoroughly enjoyed myself: The grass looked green and deep and not fluorescent, the players' shirts stood out, and the movement of the ball was completely smooth without the "smearing" that used to bother me so much in the past.

Good sound system

One of the surprises in this model is the sound system. Almost anyone who buys a thin television today knows that they must add thousands of shekels more for an external soundbar because the built–in speakers simply lack volume. Here, Haier TV made a smart move and collaborated with the excellent British audio brand KEF to do acoustic tuning for the screen's speaker system. The result, therefore, is very good: The sound is deep and fills the living room. I tried watching action movies and also listening to songs on YouTube, and the bass – which I love to hear so much – was heard well in the room.

The screen comes with the Google TV operating system, and as expected, the interface is simply quick, light, and does not freeze when switching between applications. The big advantage of Google is the home page that centralizes all your viewing recommendations in one place, and an open app store. Everything is here at the click of a button: From Netflix, YouTube, and Disney Plus to the apps of the Israeli content companies (Cellcom TV, Partner, freeTV, and yes Plus).

The remote of the M92 is small and sits well in the hand, and instead of complicating you with dozens of buttons, it offers only what is really needed – quick access to streaming and a voice search that works excellently on YouTube. However, it also has disadvantages: The keys are not backlit, and their arrangement is quite crowded, which caused me more than once to accidentally press the frame instead of the selection button in the center.

Fast refresh rate

If you have children who play on consoles like PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X (or if you yourself like to play), this section is for you: The screen supports a fast refresh rate of 144Hz in native mode (meaning, the screen is capable of refreshing the picture 144 times per second, which creates an extremely smooth movement). It is equipped with 4 HDMI 2.1 inputs – the newest standard that allows transferring a picture at maximum quality from the new consoles.

In addition, the screen supports technologies such as VRR (variable refresh rate that adjusts the screen to the pace of the game) and ALLM (auto low latency mode, which causes the screen to switch to a fast "gaming" mode the moment the console is turned on). In simple language: There is no delay between your press on the remote and what happens in the game, and the movement remains completely sharp and smooth, without annoying smearing or jumps. In addition, we will note that the TV screen has a USB connection and supports Bluetooth. Note that the initial colors received from the screen were slightly dark and not deep, and they need to be adjusted to suit you.

The price of the TV screen, which is imported as mentioned by Miniline, stands at NIS 4,390. There is a one–year warranty by law and another three years of additional limited warranty at no extra charge (subject to registration on the website in direct contact with the service company Electronics Pro).

In the bottom line, the 75–inch Haier TV M92 is a screen that offers high value for money. The screen took the advantages of Mini LED technology – high brightness and great colors – and adapted them to the relatively–bright Israeli living room. With an excellent sound system by KEF that does not require an external speaker, an easy–to–understand operating system, and an advanced gaming package, this is an excellent alternative for those who want a real home cinema experience on a giant screen, without paying an overly exorbitant price tag.
