Krombacher Pils

Germany's best–selling pilsner beer, produced since 1803 in the village of Krombach. The secret of the beer lies in the use of natural spring water, drawn from the vicinity of the brewery.

It is characterized by a bright golden clarity, a stable white foam head, and an aroma of noble German hops that gives it a herbal–floral scent. In the mouth you will feel a clean, sharp, and very dry bitterness that cleanses the palate and immediately invites the next sip.

When to drink: A semifinal beer. Sharp, precise, and unapologetic. Suitable for quick sips between attack and attack.

What to snack on: Smoked almonds. The clean bitterness of the pilsner perfectly balances the smoke and oiliness of the almond.

Alexander Blonde

An Israeli craft beer decorated with international awards from the Alexander Brewery in the Hefer Valley. This is a Belgian blonde ale–style beer, which has undergone a perfect adaptation to the Israeli palate and local weather.

It is produced from barley malt and European hops, which give it a deep golden hue and delicate fruity aromas. Its body is medium, the malty sweetness is very subtle, and the finish is smooth, round, and incredibly pleasant.

When to drink: A beer for the opening minutes, relaxed. Slides down the throat easily and provides a light experience.

What to snack on: Roasted cashew nuts. The buttery texture of the cashew and its saltiness compliment the fruity aroma of the Blonde.

Peroni Nastro Azzurro

An Italian premium lager born in Rome in 1963 that became a symbol of Mediterranean style. The beer is produced from a combination of spring barley malt and local Italian corn.

The use of corn gives the beer its lightness. The body is very light and the finish is exceptionally clean and crispy, with almost no bitterness. A beer that slides down the throat like refreshing water.

When to drink: This beer will disappear from the bottle or the glass before you even notice. A perfect companion for fast–paced, action–filled matches where you drink out of instinct.

What to snack on: French fries with lemon zest and salt. The lemoniness and saltiness emphasize the Mediterranean and light character of the beer.

Corona Extra

Corona, the best–selling imported beer in North America, is produced from a blend of barley, rice, and corn, a combination that gives it a light, sweetish, and very accessible and direct flavor profile.

It is traditionally served with a wedge of fresh lime or lemon stuffed into the neck of the bottle. A ritual born not just for style, but so that the sourness of the lime breaks the sweetness of the grains and adds a refreshing sting.

When to drink: A beer for nerve–wracking, decisive minutes. When the adrenaline is at its peak, an ice–cold Corona acts like a cooling unit. A refreshing beer that will keep you sharp.

What to snack on: Nachos with spicy salsa. The spiciness and sourness correspond perfectly with the light sourness of the beer.

Goldstar

You do not need my recommendation to pull a six–pack or two of Goldstar off the shelf, which even after decades of quality import alongside an impressive local craft industry, is still considered a particularly beloved beer.

Despite its deep amber color, it is a relatively light beer, with flavors of caramel and gentle roasting. The body is light and the finish is smooth and familiar.

When to drink: The nostalgic choice, the "home beer" of the Israeli fan. Perfect for relaxed matches and allows for the fast drinking pace of a lager.

What to snack on: Unpeeled peanuts of course, the ultimate combination of simple saltiness and oiliness that goes excellently with the caramelly sweetness of the beer.
