Israir is preparing with all its might for the opening of its route to New York, and has completed the transaction to purchase the wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft that will operate on the route.
The company purchased two Airbus A330 aircraft, totaling approximately $85 million, and according to the plan, it will operate flights to the "Big Apple" as early as the third quarter of this year and will offer, through the new aircraft, a new and upgraded flight experience that includes three service classes.
Half of the transaction cost will be financed through a loan from a banking corporation. Upon its completion, Israir owns a fleet that includes five narrow-body aircraft and two wide-body aircraft, with a total value of approximately $180 million. The financial debt against the aircraft stands at approximately $65 million.
The company will operate 18 aircraft this upcoming summer
Alongside the aircraft in its ownership, Israir operates four additional aircraft under long-term lease as well as seven additional aircraft under seasonal lease, which allow it to expand its seat capacity, strengthen operational flexibility, and provide a solution to changing demands in the Israeli and international aviation market. In total, the company will operate 18 aircraft this upcoming summer.
In parallel with the expansion of the aircraft fleet, Israir is currently recruiting additional aircrews and plans to complete the absorption of 16 new pilots and 50 new flight attendants during 2026. This move is designed to support the expansion of the company's operational activities, the operation of the wide-body aircraft, and the planned growth in long-term destinations.
Ticket sales are expected to open close to the launch of the operations of the joint credit card club of Israir, Rami Levy, and Isracard, which will allow customers to enjoy unique benefits, increased consumer value, and a direct connection between the worlds of aviation, retail, and finance.
