When thinking about a pampering vacation in Israel, escaping the hustle and bustle and taking a break from life, Herzliya is probably not at the top of the list of cities. Luckily, that is not why the Metro hotel was opened, so I imagined what my experience would be as a businesswoman who arrived for a super-important meeting and needs a place to lay her head instead of staying with her aunt in the center.
60 guest rooms and garden units were integrated by the Golden Crown chain between the floors of the office building in Herzliya Pituach. The urban design manages to be both modern and interesting, aiming to resemble global metro systems. Already at the entrance to the lobby you can feel that the hotel is completely new, polished and orderly, one that definitely makes you want to work from it.
The Golden Crown chain began its journey in the north with hotels in Haifa and Nazareth, and has now expanded and reached the center with a true gem for business people.
It seems that everything was thought of in the new urban hotel in Herzliya Pituach: From the beautiful entrance to the terrace, from the business lounge to the rooftop that is expected to open soon. Israeli and international, classic and up-to-date.
Upon entering the room it is hard to ignore the indulgent and non-typical size for hotels of this kind, and the sense of spaciousness that is possible when moving around the space. It should be said that as someone for whom showers and bathrooms in hotels are a sensitive point, they were very clean. The meticulous planning and equipment down to the smallest details created a feeling of real indulgence.
A good word for the kitchen
I imagined that as the busy boss that I am, the only thing I would want to do in the evening is sit on the hotel rooftop (which looks stunning in the rendering) with a drink and plan my next day. Unfortunately, I was surprised to discover that the rooftop is still deep in renovations, which leads to the fact that if you feel like going out to sit outside a bit, or heaven forbid absorb some vitamin D, you have to do it in one of the nearby restaurants, and let’s remember if we forgot – we are not in New York.
The breakfast, on the other hand, was excellent, really. An abundance of fresh salads, cheeses and other treats, along with the option to also order a main dish of scrambled eggs or French toast (both were excellent). A good word for the kitchen that sets a super clean and meticulous standard for buffets in Israel, in the hope that it will manage to stay that way over time. The small gym is also equipped with everything needed and more for an excellent workout, including a screen that offers super cool digital training programs.
The hotel stands in the heart of Herzliya Pituach and blends into the unique fabric of the area – part of the street, part of the city and close to everything that is interesting – from the major business centers of Gush Dan to the bustling restaurant complexes of the city and its iconic beach.
Golden Crown completes all this with a professional and generous service mindset, placing the customer at the center with a complete concierge package, with the emphasis being that the story is you, however you tell it.
The Metro hotel is a good solution for anyone you will have a meeting with in the city of lights, Herzliya, and who is not interested in indulging in a pool or feeling like they are on a honeymoon. Rumors say that the rooftop will open in June together with an equipped work room, but until then – it is mainly good for sleeping in and waking up in at a comfortable price with a good location.
For a night in a double room on the weekend you will pay NIS 735, including breakfast. The hotel is located at 2 Hasadnaot Street, Herzliya Pituach.
