Temperatures are dropping, mornings are slowing down, and this is exactly the moment when a hot cup of coffee turns from a small habit into a moment of indulgence. Nespresso’s new Festive Collection — which combines wintery flavors with the artistic design of Thandiwe Muriu — was the ideal opportunity for us to take a step forward and create at home a winter drink that is simple, indulgent, and just a little different.

The choice fell on one of the most intriguing blends in the collection: Cinnamon & Tamarind (Price: NIS 28.70 for Original machines, NIS 32.20 for Vertuo machines). The unusual combination of cinnamon and tamarind gives depth, warmth, and delicate acidity — characteristics that pair beautifully with a winter milk drink.

Ingredients:

Cinnamon & Tamarind capsule

200 ml milk (or plant-based milk)

1 teaspoon date syrup or honey

A pinch of cinnamon

¼ teaspoon vanilla paste (optional)

Garnish: almond flakes or milk foam

Preparation:

1. Heat the milk in a small pot.

2. Add date syrup/honey, cinnamon, and vanilla, and stir until combined.

3. Brew an espresso from the capsule and pour into a large mug.

4. Pour the hot milk on top.

5. Garnish with almond flakes.

What’s special about this capsule that makes the drink perfect? The Cinnamon & Tamarind blend is made of 100% Arabica from Brazil and Colombia, and it surprises with a balance between the delicate acidity of tamarind and cinnamon warmth. This makes it perfect for hot milk-based drinks.

And what else is in the Festive Collection?

In addition to this winter flavor, you’ll find three more new flavors:

Almond & Hibiscus – with flavors of almonds and hibiscus, suitable for drinking with milk. Price: NIS 28.70 for Original, NIS 32.20 for Vertuo

Festive Espresso – a classic grain-caramel blend. Price: NIS 28.70

Festive Espresso Double – a double and richer version for Vertuo. Price: NIS 32.20

Alongside the capsules, Nespresso is also launching festive accessories designed by Muriu, including a colorful limited-edition mug (NIS 62) and 75% dark chocolate with cocoa nibs (NIS 40) — a perfect pairing for the drink.

Nespresso’s new collection succeeds in combining intriguing flavors, colorful art, and a moment of winter warmth. Our recipe is just one way to use them — but who knows, maybe soon we’ll find ourselves baking espresso brownies or making a festive coffee cocktail.
