On the mountainside in Migdal Colony, overlooking the impressive view of the Sea of Galilee, one of the most prominent projects in the Galilee in recent years is taking shape – a new boutique hotel designed by "Sara and Nirit Frankel," comprising 77 rooms and covering approximately 6,500 square meters. The hotel is expected to open in 2027.

This is an ambitious project that combines elegant rural architecture with complex planning solutions arising from the steep topography of the site. Some of the buildings are embedded into the mountain, while others open up to the open air and the landscape, together creating an impressive and organic composition suited to the character of the region.

"Light Rustic"

The hotel consists of several buildings that share a common architectural language: Light stone façades, reddish tile roofs, arches, open terraces, green planters, and shaded exterior walkways. This is a "light rustic" style – a traditional Galilee look, yet refined, clean, and contemporary. The lines are soft, the materials are natural, and the lush vegetation enhances the connection between the architecture and the landscape.

The hotel includes a main building where all public functions are concentrated – lobby, restaurant, spa, reception areas, and supplementary services – as well as multiple accommodation buildings spread across different floors according to the terrain levels. The design allows each building to enjoy maximum exposure to the view while maintaining privacy and intimacy for the guests in the rooms.

"Does Not Dominate the Landscape"

Nirit Frankel, responsible for the project, said: "We knew that this special location required sensitive architecture – one that does not dominate the view but blends with it. Our goal was to create a hotel that respects the mountain, the Sea of Galilee, and the local story. In every decision, from the masses to the smallest details, we aimed to create an experience that allows the guest to feel part of the space, along with tranquility and disconnection."

One of the strongest elements of the project is the pool floor, which is a central spot defining the hotel vacation experience. The pool is elongated, bordered by light flooring and rows of green plants, with sun loungers and open spaces around it. Tall trees, including cypresses that give the place a Mediterranean character, frame the horizon and enhance the sense of depth.

Between the buildings are integrated pathways, exterior staircases, and green terraces, creating a rich and varied movement experience. The design takes advantage of the topography to create intimate spaces, seating areas, terraces, and shaded walkways that enhance the guest experience and give a feeling of staying in a holiday village.
