The world of artificial intelligence is certainly helping improve many areas of our lives, and it seems that one of them will soon be our fitness routines. One example of this is FitBuddy, an Israeli app developed by entrepreneurs Maor Bitan and Tomer Yizraeli.

The two, friends who trained together at the gym and grew bored of the routine – and didn’t want to pay a fortune for a personal trainer – brought to life an app that brings AI to the fitness world, whether you want to work out alone at home or at your local gym.

Personally, I have chosen home workouts for years, mainly because of the flexible schedule it allows me, so I jumped at the opportunity to try the app, which is free for the first two weeks. I was skeptical, but after a short registration – which we’ll touch on shortly – I opened up to a new world of exercises, presented by the app with video tutorials to ensure correct form.

After getting to know the app’s personal fitness coach, in the form of AI, I found a highly capable advisor, eager to answer various questions about nutrition, suggest new exercises not listed in the app itself, give advice on workout techniques, and much more. In fact, whatever you want to ask or consult about your training method, the app not only answers but also provides access to the appropriate exercises if you choose.

What impressed me most about the app was how well it adapts to my personal goals. Initially, you answer a short questionnaire that takes less than five minutes, provide information about your body, set your goals (building muscle mass, losing weight, etc.), and then receive a training plan tailored to your level and objectives, with over 500 instructional exercise videos.

As noted, the app is suitable for workouts in a gym with machines, as well as at home using dumbbells, resistance bands, and bodyweight exercises alone. You can also track your workouts with documentation of exercises, sets, and repetitions, and continually monitor your progress.

One of the most impressive features is the ability to create a personalized nutrition plan, alongside smart nutrition tracking with the option to photograph your meal or enter it manually to receive its nutritional values. The app also allows daily tracking of calories and protein intake.

“Today, it is already clear that the world is looking for smart solutions that allow access to a wide variety of workouts and customized nutrition – all in one place. This is where our app comes in: An AI-based platform that understands the user, creates personalized plans, and continuously supports them – an experience almost identical to a personal trainer,” say entrepreneurs Bitan and Yizraeli.

“To create a real connection between technology and fitness, we partnered with Lior Genish – a world champion and someone who lives and breathes sports in practice. The combination of his professional knowledge and our AI capabilities creates a product like no other: Groundbreaking technology with a human depth that understands the needs of athletes.

“This is how we bring an innovative, accessible, and continuous experience – connecting the ever-changing fitness world with the technological leap of artificial intelligence.”
