Novakid, a leading online learning platform for teaching English to children ages two to 14, is launching Novakid Junior in Israel – a free app designed to make English learning a natural and enjoyable experience. The app is available for download on Google and Apple app stores and offers an innovative approach to early English learning – for children aged two to six – through game-based interactive learning. Novakid Junior includes over 50 beginner lessons, organized by topics like animals and vehicles, and includes activities such as object-finding and matching exercises. Additional courses, including lessons based on the phonics method, are expected to be added later.

The app was developed by education and technology experts with the goal of making English learning easy, natural, and fun, tailored to the cognitive abilities of children in this age group. It is based on advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and natural language processing, which help early learners build English vocabulary, form simple sentences, and improve pronunciation. All of this is done at the pace, level, and according to the interests of each individual child. The integration of AI technologies into the app makes it possible to begin English education several years earlier, at the unprecedented young age of two – just as toddlers are beginning to speak and fully understand Hebrew.

Novakid is one of the world’s leading companies in the field of online English learning as a second language. Since its founding in 2017, the number of users has reached over 880,000 in more than 50 countries worldwide, with more than 20 million lessons completed. Israel, where the company has been active since 2019, is Novakid’s third-largest market globally, with more than 13,000 students.

A statement from Novakid said: “Novakid Junior is an excellent tool for boosting children's confidence in learning English at a young age. The launch in Israel enables parents to enrich the world of their young children, who currently have no educational frameworks due to the situation in the country and tend to get bored during long hours of inactivity. Additionally, learning English during the summer will strengthen the children's academic skills ahead of the upcoming school year in September. Lastly, the app supports parents' positive attitudes toward digital education.”

A 2024 survey conducted by Novakid among 5,000 families in 15 countries indicates that quality screen time contributes significantly to children's development. This approach is echoed in a Common Sense Media survey revealing that 75% of parents are enthusiastic about their children acquiring knowledge through digital tools.

Toby Mather, Global Product Manager at Novakid, stated: “Learning English at an early age is like planting a garden – you have to plant the seeds at the right time, when the soil is ready, and then provide them with plenty of water and sunshine over several seasons. Before the launch of Novakid Junior, children started learning English at the relatively late age of six or seven, but now we can plant the seeds earlier, when a child’s brain is most adapted to learning a second language. It will take years of watering and sunlight exposure until the bush becomes a sturdy tree, but the head start is brilliant.”
