Israel has no choice but to defend its people, IAI- Israel Aerospace Industries President and CEO Boaz Levy said at the Jerusalem Post Diplomatic Conference held at the Friends of Zion Media Center in Jerusalem.
“In Israel, we don’t have any other choice. We have to defend our people and our families, and that’s what we are doing. Since October 7, we have been working 24/7, and we are delivering whatever is necessary to defend our population,” he said.
Levy discussed the IAI family and noted that the company, with its 15,000 employees, supports 50,000 households in Israel. “Two thousand of our employees served in the IDF reserves during the war. We understood that our job is not only to run a company, not only to deliver to all of our customers here in Israel and overseas, but to support the people who are working with us, their families, and the population of Israel.”
Discussing the company’s defense activities in the Swords of Iron War, Levy said that the very first images that came from Gaza on the first day of the war were supplied by IAI satellites. Those images were critical in assisting the IDF in understanding the situation on the ground.
The secret of IAI’s success is not only in its products, he said, but “it’s the connection and the connectivity between them.”
Discussing IAI’s missile defense systems, such as the Arrow and Barak, Levy, who began his career as an aeronautical engineer heading many of the company’s projects, said that the company’s systems displayed a 90% interception rate. They are changing the world of ballistic missile defense, not only in Israel, but around the world.
