Dr. Mike Evans, founder of the Friends of Zion Heritage Center, delivered a recorded message to the Jerusalem Post Diplomatic Conference held at the Friends of Zion media center this week. He called for renewed global efforts to fight antisemitism and reaffirmed his organization’s unwavering support for Israel.
Although unable to attend in person due to an urgent diplomatic mission, Evans received a special award from the Jerusalem Post honoring him as “Israel greatest bridge-builder among evangelicals globally. Whose diplomatic achievements for the State of Israel are legendary.” In his recorded message, he emphasized the urgency of addressing what he described as a “mutating virus.”
“My life’s work is to combat antisemitism,” Evans stated. “Consider Germany – the Holocaust didn’t begin with guns, but with education and words. No one acted until it became a tsunami.”
He highlighted that the Friends of Zion operates “on many different fronts,” including collaborations with the Israel Defense Forces and families of hostages. Rejecting partisan labels, Evans said, “People ask us – are you right or left wing? And we tell them we’re neither; we support all of Israel.”
Evans confirmed that 1,000 pastors are already booked to visit Israel this December, in collaboration with Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to expose faith leaders to the country’s reality and bolster global solidarity with Israel.
Referring to the conference as “a historic event that’s been planned for a very long time,” Evans warned that “the State of Israel has lost the youth in the fight against antisemitism,” calling for renewed education and international engagement.
