As many municipalities across Israel compete in the heated race to become the next home of tech giant NVIDIA, Netanya is presenting an ambitious and unique proposal that could give it a clear advantage.
Following a large-scale initiative led by Mayor Miriam Feirberg-Ikar, the Netanya Municipality has submitted a strategic proposal to NVIDIA for establishing an advanced development center in the city. Through its Business Development Division, a detailed document was prepared positioning Netanya as the most attractive option in Israel for the tech giant’s campus.
“This proposal could change the high-tech map of Israel,” said the Mayor. “Not just because of accessibility and available land, but because of the vision - to transform Netanya into a global technological hub with a unique connection to academia, community, and modern living.”
At the core of the proposal submitted to the company is “a unique combination of a strategic location in the heart of the country, top-tier transportation infrastructure, unusually large-scale construction plans, an ambitious development vision, and a proven track record of convincing global companies to choose Netanya.”
What is Netanya offering the chip giant?
The employment zone planned for the new center offers excellent accessibility: immediate access to Highway 2 (the Coastal Highway), proximity to Highways 4 and 6, as well as a new train station - "HaMichlalot" ("The Colleges") - which will be built adjacent to the complex and provide convenient access for workers from all over the country.
The short distance from Tel Aviv and Haifa, as well as proximity to Ben Gurion Airport, are also significant advantages for a globally active company like NVIDIA.
In addition, the Net/1000 plan, approved in early 2024, positions Netanya as one of the largest employment zones in the country: over 2 million square meters of commercial and business space are currently being advanced through planning and permitting processes - an unprecedented scale in Israel.
Advanced infrastructure is also a central element of the proposal: one of the largest server farms in Israel is currently under construction in the city, spanning about 35,000 square meters and with an investment of NIS 1.3 billion. The farm is expected to offer a capacity of 42 megawatts - a critical figure for companies specializing in AI and big data.
Added to all of this is a proven advantage: Netanya's ability to attract global players. For example, the first IKEA branch in Israel was built specifically in the Sapir Industrial Park in the city - and just a few months ago, the company announced the purchase of the complex for approximately half a billion NIS.
For the mayor and her economic team, this is a badge of honor - and proof that Netanya knows how to speak the language of industry giants.
The experiential aspect has also been taken into account: the company will be able to hold events and conferences at the Miri Feirberg-Ikar Municipal Stadium and at the new arena, both offering modern infrastructure for major events. And finally - the human advantage: Netanya is considered a desirable city to live in, with a stunning coastline, new residential towers, high-quality neighborhoods, strong educational institutions, and a vibrant community life - a combination that makes it an ideal choice for employees’ partners and children as well.
