Former US Vice President Kamala Harris may run for president again in the future, Harris told the BBC in an interview on Saturday.
"I am not done," she said. "I have lived my entire career as a life of service, and it's in my bones."
In the interview, Harris stated that her grandnieces would see a female president "in their lifetime, for sure," adding that it would “possibly” be her.
The former VP dismissed recent polls claiming she would not be picked as the Democratic nominee in 2028, saying that she never listened to polls
"If I listened to polls, I would not have run for my first office, or my second office - and I certainly wouldn't be sitting here," she said.
Harris on Trump: Fascist, running authoritarian government
Harris told the BBC she believed that US President Donald Trump was running an authoritarian government, citing his suspension of Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show.
"You look at what has happened in terms of how he has weaponised, for example, federal agencies going around after political satirists… His skin is so thin he couldn't endure criticism from a joke, and attempted to shut down an entire media organisation in the process," she said.
The White House responded to Harris’s comments, stating that “the American people don't care about her absurd lies."
"When Kamala Harris lost the election in a landslide, she should've taken the hint… Or maybe she did take the hint and that's why she's continuing to air her grievances to foreign publications,” spokeswoman Abigail Jackson told the BBC.
